Members and friends of the Rotary Club of Berwick were out and about this week doing
what they do best - engaging with the local community, supporting local causes and
making a difference.
On Friday 16th March, we held our annual St John of God Hospital Golf Day fundraiser at the Cardinia Beaconhills Golf Links, which was well supported by various local businesses and many keen golfers from around the Casey and Cardinia area. From all accounts it was a perfect day capped off by a wonderful evening of fellowship and networking over a meal and a drink or two! I must congratulate the Golf Day Committee for what was a successful and professionally run fundraising event. Thank you to all those who came on board as sponsors and to all the golfers, without whom there would simply be no event! Your participation will help us make a difference in our community.

What a fantastic day for golf last Friday. Thanks to PP Gus, our contact at the Bureau of Meteorology, for the perfect weather conditions that prevailed throughout the day. Thanks also to my wonderful team of workers including all those from our Club who helped on the day, donated prizes and sold raffle tickets.

The campaign was launched on the 31st of January 2018 and is said to be the City of Casey’s biggest advocacy campaign ever, calling on the State Government and Opposition to Commit to Casey, to fix the region’s roads and extend Cranbourne Rail.
Launching the campaign, City of Casey Mayor Cr Geoff Ablett said that “fixing roads and extending rail will create jobs, improve access to essential services, ease cost of living pressures and help the local community and economy thrive.” He went on to say that “investment in Casey infrastructure is well overdue” and that “urgent action is needed”.
