Kraan Family BBQ
Welcome back for the New Year.  It only seems like yesterday when the Rotary year started.  Hopefully everyone spent Christmas and New Year with the people they wanted to.

The weather put on its best for the Family BBQ at the Kraan’s.  Jack, Ann and Dan were wonderful hosts as always.  Jack did comment that in the early years people stayed to well after midnight, not so on Wednesday.  Must have something to do with age.

An enjoyable night was had with great food and fellowship.  The ratio of people bringing either a salad or a sweet to share worked out well.

A welcome visitor was our outbound Exchange Student Alex Kraan and his family.  He is excited about going and thanked the club for our support.  He leaves on the 20th January for his year in Switzerland.
53rd Cemetery Cleanup
All hands on deck for the Cemetery Cleanup next week.  We have put in an order with Gus for good weather from the Bureau of Meteorology.  If it is too hot, there will be no manual work.  Just watering and the BBQ of course.

Starting time is 5.30pm

Parking is in the Arch Brown Reserve.  Enter from Buchanan Road and park near the tennis club rooms.

Jobs to be done are: watering the roses, painting wrought iron work on old graves, spreading and topping up mulch.

Bring a chair, hat, gloves if you are painting, rakes and shovels for mulching, watering cans for the roses.

A BBQ feast will be supplied with the usual fellowship to finish the evening.
Australia Day Photo Shoot
We need happy faces for a photo shoot to promote Australia Day.

Please let Mark know if you can be a Pioneers Park on Tuesday 17th January at 2pm.  The Mayor, Sam Aziz will be there.

The more of us we have in our polo shirts, the better it will look in the paper.

Rotaract Trivia Night
Please support the Casey Cardinia Rotaract club with their 2nd annual Trivia Night.

We have 2 tables booked and spaces to spare.  Please see Lea or Isobel for a fun night out.

Theme: Harry Potter.  It doesn’t matter if you don’t know much about the boy wizard, come along anyway.
