Changeover Dinner 29th June 2016
What a magnificent evening to celebrate Geoff Double’s President year and to welcome incoming President Mark Cauflield.
The evening commenced with entertainment from a string quartet of students from Nossal High School.
Toast to Rotary International
PP Terry Carmichael proposed the toast to Rotary International.  In a wide ranging talk he spoke on the avenues of International service the club participates in.  He also entertained us with tales of the projects our club has done over the years.
DGE Lynne Westland responded, saying that the Rotary Club of Berwick is special to her as she started with us.  She told us of how Polio has nearly been eradicated.  Also that this is a special year as it is the 100th birthday of the Rotary Foundation.
Geoff Double Presentation
Geoff Double spoke of the many achievements that the club has had over the year.  Not only the fundraising but the fellowship that was had by all.  He is very proud to be a member of the Rotary Club of Berwick.

Projects such as the Farmers & Craft Market, Youth Exchange, The Benevolent Society, Mental Health Forum, Carols by Candlelight, Australia Day, Debutante Balls, Art Screen Hire, Golf Day, Trots Night, Biggest Morning Tea, BBQ Catering would not have been as successful as they were without all the hard work of our members, families and friends.

We were pleased to be able to host 2 very successful cluster meetings which focused on the Young Veterans Association.  Some of the fundraising has gone locally to the Benevolent Society, St John of God Hospital, Berwick College, Berwick CFA and many more.  Rotary programs such as ROMAC, MUNA, RYPEN, Polio Plus and Rotary Foundation continued to be supported.

Geoff particularly thanked all the board for their hard work.  Extra special thanks go to Di for the Bulletin.  Also Di and Scott for all the support and encouragement over the year.  They hope to go sailing much more often now.

Please see the annual report for all the reports.
Evita Raijmaker

Evita Raijmakers our Exchange Student read a very moving letter that was written by a French Exchange Student.  It spoke of the emotions and feelings of being away and returning home.  Well done Evita, she will find her place between the two worlds.
Mark Caulfield Induction
PDG Tim Moore in his usual style proceeded with the induction of Mark Caulfield.  The line-up of Past President’s just shows how strong our club is.  PP Geoff handed over “The Reins”  to President Mark and the new year is off and running.

Mark Caulfield Presentation
Mark spoke that he joined Rotary because someone asked him.  He urged everyone to ask one person to join.
Fellowship and friendship is important to Mark as Rotary helped both the Caulfield and Button families when their businesses and homes were flooded in 2011.  He wants the fellowship to continue with meetings, outings and weekends away.

Associations with neighbouring clubs, Rotaract and Inner Wheel should be encouraged and expanded.  The 100 years of the Rotary Foundation will be celebrated and be a focus for the year.  Mark introduced the incoming board and thanked Geoff for his leadership and support over the year and the incoming board for getting up to speed.

He closed by thanking his wife Isobel, daughters Rachel and Anna for their support.  Also his brother Patrick and wife Dearywn for travelling from New Zealand and Isobel’s father Graeme Mills and wife Lily for attending.
