Some Rotarians have reported receiving a scam email asking them to click a link to update names and contact information in a directory.
The email, which stems from a gmail account, is not from Rotary.
We welcomed Mike Scott-Worthington from the RC Biggleswade District 9820. He has been a Rotarian for over 40 years.

Lisa will be moving to Jen and Steve Marshall’ at the end of November. The school holidays are long and Lisa would love some company and things to do during the week over December and January. She has some outings planned but if you are doing anything, please consider taking Lisa along.
Adrian Funston thanked everyone for their kind wishes for Betty’s convalescence. She is now on the mend and is planning her 95th birthday, which may be a rehearsal for her wake. This is so nice and naughty things can be said to her while she is still here.

The Kraan family have kindly offered their home again for the January BBQ on the 4th January.
Our guest speaker for the evening was PDG Tony Spring. He spoke about the Tonga project we contributed to via Foundation, The Tonga Community Development Trust and the New Zealand Government a few years ago.
This involved building vegetable gardens, hen houses and restoring mangroves. Excess food is sold at markets which provides ongoing work and income for the villagers.
It has succeeded beyond all expectations and they are looking to expand it. Unfortunately, it doesn’t qualify for Foundation grants any more. $50,000 is needed in total with $20,000 hopefully coming from Rotary Australia. The New Zealand government is willing put contribute extra funds to make it happen.
Bob Lay thanked Tony on behalf of the club. A simple project that has great benefits. Foundation is a wonderful part of Rotary we need to hear about.
Tony also informed us about the requirements for Global Grants, how they are funded and current, past and future projects. Click below for these.
Lisa has been busy at school. She has finished exams and now started Year 11 subjects Biology, Chemistry, English, Outdoor Education and Food Technology. Lisa enjoyed the Progressive Dinner especially all the food.
On Melbourne Cup Day Lisa went to a BBQ with another exchange student’s family and won $40 for getting 2nd place.
Lisa has been very social with both school friends and exchange student friends.
The word for the week is “Schnee“, which means snow.
Terry Carmichael thanked David Button for all his work posting on the Farmers & Craft Market Facebook page. Please like, share and put a review on the page. There are flyers and posters for the Christmas Twilight Market for people to place in shop windows and noticeboards after the November market.
The merry band of BBQ'rs and Rotary Information goers had a big presence at the RFDS Golf day.
120 golfers enjoyed the gourmet treats on offer. They certainly could not miss all our new banners.
