Trevor Bailey Behind the Badge
Trevor had the hard task of following his daughter being the guest speaker and he did a great job.  Trevor has had a varied life, he grew up in the country until he came to Melbourne to University.  He did accounting but would have preferred Law.  Saying that, he has done very well from accounting.
He is divorced with 2 children.

Trevor has had many areas of work including selling computer software, a mobile disco, a used car business, a supermarket and many areas of accounting and finance.  For the last 13 years he has had a Contractor Management business.  The wire bending business intrigued everyone.

His charitable work apart from Rotary includes being a Salvation Army Emergency Services Volunteer, although they haven’t rung him for a while.  This is to go out to help people if there are fires or floods etc.  Viv mentioned that Trevor has given up Christmas Day’s to serve lunch to the homeless.

Trevor is starting a mentoring business for young people who want to go into business but are having difficulties.  This is something he loves doing.

As always it is very interesting to learn a bit more about one of our own.
Lisa's Week
Lisa enjoyed school as usual this week.  She got 89 for Chemistry Test and 96 for her Chemistry assignment.

On the weekend Lisa went to a school friend’s birthday party and stayed overnight.  On Sunday it was different using car lights while eating dinner as there was not power.

If anyone has the book “Twelve Angry Men” can Lisa please borrow it for school next year.

The word for the day is ”Mittwoch” which means Wednesday.
Bendigo Community Bank Sponsorship
Tonight President Mark and Fundraising Director Terry signed the Sponsorship agreement with Andrew Gardiner, Manager of the Beaconsfield Bendigo Community Bank.

Andrew spoke about how important Community Partnerships are.

Local sponsorships are decreasing from head office but the bank are pleased that they can support us.
Christmas Cakes & Puddings
Get ready fro Christmas with Rotary puddings and cake.

You can order for yourselves and also for the Benevolent Society.  Those for the Benevolent Society will go directly to the CNISS as part of the normal Christmas giving.

It is a RC Melton Valley project so it is a win, win, win, all the way around.

We get money, Foundation gets money and help the Benevolent Society. Please contact Lea to order.

Uniforms
Jane and Sam showed off samples of the uniforms that will be available.

This is so when we are out and about we look like a team.

Any item is optional and you can purchase what you wish.

On Wednesday 26th October there will be different sizes of the garments to try on at the meeting.
