Let's support local business! This week's meeting will be focusing on something we are all doing a lot of at the moment... staying at home! Whether it is working from home, social distancing or isolating, with everyone at home it is important that we focus on our health. Tonight's presenter is Kate Boyle, a nutritionist, pilates instructor, elite level ballet dancer, podcaster, business owner, mum of two and a local Berwick girl! Kate's passionate about sharing her knowledge on health and fitness and we are very fortunate to have her presenting her top tips on staying healthy at home. Kate will also get us moving with some gentle stretch we can do at home to help keep our bodies moving. The weather is warming up so it is time to get moving, get motivated and prioritise your health and wellbeing. Kate runs her own studio Mind & Movement Pilates here in Berwick and is one of the many businesses impacted by the lockdown. As part of the clubs 'Support Local Business' initiative, we will be paying for a private class with Kate. So that we can continue this project to support other businesses like Kate's we will charge a voluntary $5 fee for all attendees to be paid via an online transaction: https://form.jotform.com/djbutton/KateBoylePilates A private session with a health professional attracts a considerable fee, for only $5 you can hear from an industry expert, have your health and wellbeing questions answered and feel the benefits by joining in with the optional gentle pilates exercises. Comfy clothes are recommended so come along for a fun and informative night. The meeting will start at 7.20 pm for a 7:30 pm start. Mar 31, 2021 5:30 pm - 8:30 pm
The Rotary Club of Berwick warmly invites fellow Rotarians to spend a vocational evening at the best specialist Clematis nursery in Australia. If you have an interest in horticulture, plants or just nature, this is a visit worth making. Clematis specialists David and Judy Button will show you around and explain the processes involved in growing and marketing plants for the Australian market. Alameda Homestead Nursery has been in operation for 30 years originally in Berwick, but now in Devon Meadows. The current site has been slowly developed over the last ten years. The business has sidestepped the big box stores to supply independent garden centres, landscapers, florists and trade centres from Tasmania to Queensland and across to Perth. They are a member of the Nursery and Garden Industry Association of Victoria. The business Facebook page can be found here: https://www.facebook.com/alamedahomesteadnursery and the website https://www.ahn.com.au/ if you want to learn more. David Button is the current President of the Rotary Club of Berwick. This visit is open to the members of the Rotary Clubs of Berwick and Pakenham as well as other interested Rotarians from surrounding clubs. Alameda Homestead Nursery is a production nursery and not open to the public. The nursery specialises and produces hybrid clematis and works with fellow nursery people from around the world. To allow for plenty of time to walk and talk plants, this will be a catered function. Please wear sturdy footwear. Don't wear your best clothes! Date and Time: 31st March 2021 - 5.30 pm onwards. Catering: Carlyle Complete Catering @ $25 pp. BYO Drinks, chairs Menu: Marinated chicken thigh fillets Desserts: Please book using this form: https://form.jotform.com/210701480755047 |
