Mar 31, 2021 5:30 pm - 8:30 pm
The Rotary Club of Berwick warmly invites fellow Rotarians to spend a vocational evening at the best specialist Clematis nursery in Australia. If you have an interest in horticulture, plants or just nature, this is a visit worth making. Clematis specialists David and Judy Button will show you around and explain the processes involved in growing and marketing plants for the Australian market. Alameda Homestead Nursery has been in operation for 30 years originally in Berwick, but now in Devon Meadows. The current site has been slowly developed over the last ten years. The business has sidestepped the big box stores to supply independent garden centres, landscapers, florists and trade centres from Tasmania to Queensland and across to Perth. They are a member of the Nursery and Garden Industry Association of Victoria. The business Facebook page can be found here: https://www.facebook.com/alamedahomesteadnursery and the website https://www.ahn.com.au/ if you want to learn more. David Button is the current President of the Rotary Club of Berwick. This visit is open to the members of the Rotary Clubs of Berwick and Pakenham as well as other interested Rotarians from surrounding clubs. Alameda Homestead Nursery is a production nursery and not open to the public. The nursery specialises and produces hybrid clematis and works with fellow nursery people from around the world. To allow for plenty of time to walk and talk plants, this will be a catered function. Please wear sturdy footwear. Don't wear your best clothes! Date and Time: 31st March 2021 - 5.30 pm onwards. Catering: Carlyle Complete Catering @ $25 pp. BYO Drinks, chairs Menu: Marinated chicken thigh fillets Desserts: Please book using this form: https://form.jotform.com/210701480755047 |

Jarrod Flanigan is no stranger to running successful Industry Awards Nights. As Rotarians, we are focusing on promoting excellence in trades. Everyone wants to book someone who knows what they are doing! What better way than to find talented people, learn about their journey and celebrate their achievements. Jarrod is a Careers Counsellor with Chisholm Institute and we are very fortunate to have Jarrod get us started on our first Vocational Awards night in many years!

Tonight we will be joined by the members of the Rotary Club of Biggleswade from the UK District 1260. Michael Scott-Worthington and his Club members will be learning about BlazeAid from Vice President Isobel Caulfield. We should remember that the Rotary Club of Biggleswade donated money towards our fundraiser for two BlazeAid trailers just after the fires. It is very fitting that they can get some feedback from someone who has actually been doing a bit of BlazeAiding and using the type of trailers that we fundraised for and supplied BlazeAid. It should be an interesting meeting! Hopefully, no one from the UK is still in their JimJams.
