Its that time of year when we have the Berwick Cemetery Working Bee, followed by our popular social gathering.
Funno is marshalling the troops and provides the following information to ensure that the event runs smoothly.
Wednesday Feb 1st from 6.00pm will see Rotary at work, Rotary at play & Rotary celebrating 58 years of community service to the Berwick Cemetery.
Please park in the Arch Brown Recreation reserve (Berwick Tennis Club) …entrance off Buchanan Road (entry to cemetery is via the gate in the fence)
Bring a chair!
Bring a jumper/coat!
Tasks to be undertaken:
- Rose dead heading in the lawn section and memorial rose gardens, and Xmas decoration removal. Secateurs & gloves are required.
- Removal of Xmas decorations and dead flowers from monumental graves…gloves required.
- Raking & blowing of leaves & twigs along main drive…rakes, forks & air brooms required.
- Watering of roses in lawn sections & memorial rose gardens…hoses and some watering cans provided.
- Paint wrought iron work in monumental section…paint,brushes,turps supplied.
- Cooking the BBQ.
- There will be a skip provided for leaves,rose prunings,dead flowers etc.
If weather is inclement…..we will still have fellowship!
If weather is toooo hot .... we'll still have fellowship!
