We had a very successful Berwick cemetery clean up and BBQ on Wednesday evening.

Gus was kind to us and organized ideal weather for both working and enjoying fellowship.

I believe we had 38 participants in attendance.  We even saw some faces we have not seen for a while. The annual clean up is the longest running project of the Club, running for 58 years.

If I compare the state of the cemetery back when I first attended in 1981 to it’s current state, it is amazing the difference.  The Cemetery Trust does a great job, but the input from our Club members is not to be under estimated.  Thank you to Funno for organising the event again.

The week’s meeting is an important event for the Club.  We will be inducting a new member.  The strength of the Club is dependant on its membership and it is great to have another new member on board.

Given that it is a special event, particularly for the inductee, Co-President Geoff and I encourage you to invite your partners to the meeting to help welcome our new Rotarian.

Talking about new members, we encourage you to think about who in your circle of family, friends and acquaintances have the characteristics to make an ideal Rotarian.  Invite them along to a meeting or an activity and give them a taste of what it means to be a Rotarian.

The more members we have, the lighter our load becomes and the more enjoyable is our membership experience.
