You certainly can’t say that there is not a bit going on around the club.
Firstly, like everyone I was saddened to hear about the passing of the club’s good friend and Past President, Garry Cooper. It was good to pause briefly at our meeting this week to remember someone who meant so much, to so many.
I’m sure you already know about the funeral details for Garry next week.
A quick summary of other happenings around the place goes like this:
Practice again this week for our 2024 round of Presentation Balls and the participants really have progressed wonderfully. Next week practice is at the venue and I know the students are quite excited to get a first- hand glimpse of what’s ahead.
If you want to help out on either of the nights here’s a quick snapshot of our resourcing. I encourage you to nominate quickly if you want one of the few remaining spots.

Wednesday & Thursday we were well represented at the Nossal High School Mock Interviews. Thanks so much to Di Scheepers for organising and to our club members who participated. It was a rich experience for interviewers and interviewees alike.

Also this week we were busy with Playground Removal for overseas and thanks Jen for being the catalyst and for our members who got their hands dirty.
A big vote of thanks must go this week to Andrew & Trevor for making the meeting this week an absolute winner. Great turnout and you always know when it’s a good night by the length of time people hang around. Wednesday night was one of those nights. Thanks to everyone who invited a guest or 2 along. My guests really enjoyed the night and were appreciative of the way the night ran. Our MC, Trevor did an outstanding job and it was again terrific to partner the guys from Fitness for Blokes without whom the night would not have happened.
Next Week is our challenge lawn bowls night up at Monbulk. The invitation is in your inbox and I encourage you to register early.
Finally, I want to call out the contributions of David Button & Gus. Our bulletin is the result of the 1st rate presentation of what’s happening and the contribution of club members. The bulletin is a 2 way communication tool that enables anyone to contribute and share the things that are of interest. David (&Gus whilst David will be away) just can’t pull things out of the ether. They need contributions from other club members to keep things fresh and worth reading.
If you have an article to contribute please share so it can be included. David B will be back on June 1st
