Find out at the 2023 Open Day Saturday 18 March 10am—3pm

Some people see the Donations in Kind store at West Footscray as nothing more than an overstocked junkshop. However, other more enlightened people, see it as a vast treasure trove of goods for all manner of local and international Rotary projects. They are like kids in a big toyshop – their eyes sparkle with ideas and opportunities.

With over 3,500 square meters of mostly triple racked shelving, the store holds supplies of hospital beds and mattresses, transfer trolleys, examination couches, IV poles, patient monitors, ECG’s, baby cots, and a vast array of medical consumables such as gloves, gowns, drapes, bandages and lots more.

Then there are the school desks and chairs, together with school consumables, books and large stocks of new clothing.

And don’t forget all of the mobility aids: wheelchairs, walkers, crutches, shower chairs and the like.

But don’t take our word for it, come and see for yourselves.

Tea and coffee will be available all day and it would not be a Rotary activity without a Sausage Sizzle.

We know that many Rotarians, both new and old, have not seen what the store has to offer, and they are amazed when they visit for the first time. Discover what you might utilise for local community projects, as well as talking to us about container opportunities. Make a Club outing of the visit and see how DIK can get the ideas started or provide help for your project.

Donations in Kind is located at Shed 39, 400 Somerville Road West Footscray. It is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays, https://rotarydik.org
