As promised, here are some photos of a ‘much happier looking’ BlazeAid combat trailer.
As well as the new paint and stickers, new tyres, wheel bearings, brakes, shoes and new taillights were also fitted.
I also received the following message from Chris Rippon, from BlazeAid, “Our most grateful thanks to the Rotary Club of Berwick for sponsoring this upgrade and service. Your trailer is now fully prepared for many more years of active service helping our farming communities recover from natural disasters”.

Chris also asked all the BlazeAid people to keep a look out for the other trailer, which was branded Rotary District 7475 New Jersey, USA, due to the support they gave us back in 2020 with a Matching Grant. Yesterday, a very happy Chris let me know that it has been found. The trailer is in service at the Alexandra Merton camp and has been there since it opened earlier this year.
In the lead up to Remembrance Day, at our next meeting we will learn all about ‘Fallen Diggers’ from their current President, Dennis Frank.
Thousands of Australian service members remain unaccounted for from past global conflicts. This group of volunteers works to ensure that these forgotten soldiers do not remain nameless. Dennis will share with us the work that Fallen Diggers do to bring peace and closure to the families of missing service men and women.
Looking forward to seeing you all again on 4th November.
Cheers!
