Welcome to the 28th edition of Spoke ‘n’ Words.

Last Wednesday, members and friends of the Rotary Club of Berwick turned up in numbers for the vocational visit at the Veolia Green Recycling facility in South Dandenong. Thank you to Jennifer Marshall and her husband Steve, who manages the facility, for the opportunity to learn about the latest developments in green waste recycling and composting, and how our green waste is transformed into a product that is helping farmers revive their land and produce healthier crops.

Thank you to Ann Kraan and Brett Fishley (Betty’s son) for joining us on this visit. I hope you enjoyed the outing and the Rotary fellowship.
On Wednesday the 7th of February, we will be back at Holm Park. Past President (PP) Mark and Isobel Caulfield will be our guest speakers and the topic of their presentation is the Camino de Santiago Pilgrimage (The Way of St James) which they undertook late last year. A special invitation has been sent to members and friends of the Berwick Inner Wheel to join us on the night to hear Isobel and Mark recount their experiences of what has been described by previous pilgrims as a spiritual journey of self-discovery and enlightenment.

Should be a great night in Rotary fellowship.

Speaking of Rotary Fellowship, I encourage all members, especially those who have never been to a major Rotary gathering before, to join me and the other Rotary Club of Berwick members at the next District 9820 Conference in Sale on the week-end of the 16-18th February 2018. Visit the District 9820 Conference 2018 webpage for more details.

I take this opportunity to send the Club’s best wishes to all members who may not be their best at this time. Special thoughts also for those who are travelling around Australia and abroad… stay safe and we look forward to hearing about your adventures.

I hope you enjoy this week’s edition of the bulletin.
