On Tuesday 31st January, a large crowd filled the Tobin Brothers Chapel in Berwick to celebrate the life of Gerald James Teasure, who passed away at the age of 90 on 19th January, after a long illness.

Three generations of Gerald's family were present to say their final Goodbyes. His son Ronan summarised his many achievements in business and sport, his many community activities, but most importantly as a much loved father, grandfather and great grandfather.

It was said that Gerald was involved in so many local organisations and community groups that he was, in effect, the uncrowned "Mayor of Beaconsfield".

His friend, Adrian Funston (Funno), did an excellent job in outlining Gerald's many roles in, and contributions to, the Rotary Club of Berwick over his 28 years membership, including as President in 1997-1998.  He also provided some amusing stories of their shared love of fishing.

Lawrie Canning from the Beconsfield Football Club spoke of Gerald's association with the Club over many years, as President and life member of both junior and senior clubs.

Gerald supported St Kilda Football team, so the service ended with the team's theme song.

The attendees were then invited for refreshments at the Beaconsfield Football Club after the service, to celebrate a full life that was well lived.
