At the meeting this week we enjoyed hearing about the amazing work Wheelchairs for Kids do. Russell Hayes and Grant Klaaysen told us about the history of this program, showed us photos of the warehouse where over 250 volunteers construct the wheelchairs. They showed touching videos of children receiving their chair, and for some, being able to go outside for the first time in their lives. They even brought in a wheelchair to show the model they are currently producing in their factory in Perth.

They have gifted over 64,000 wheelchairs to children in more than 80 countries. This amazing project shows how even if you can't change the world, you can change the whole world for one child.

This weekend we saw the first use of the new BBQ trailer. A big thank you to Isobel and Mark Caulfield for stepping in to help tow the trailer as Russell is unwell, - wishing him (and Jen) both a quick recovery. Thanks to Di and Geoff for paying them both a visit and dropping off a gift from the club, good to hear they were both in good spirits.

Thanks to Jack for getting everything ready to go for the trailer at such short notice and rallying the troops!

A big thanks to our helpers on Sunday who cooked 200 sausages at the National Tree Day event in Cranbourne West. Well done to Shoey, Jack, Ann, Tim, Jane, Isobel and Mark.

Reminders:
Don't forget to book in for tree planting on Sunday 10 August.
This is the last week to bring in your winter coats for our collection for Casey North Community Information Support Services.
