This week:
This week I challenged you all to visit another club. Jack and Ann Kraan, Wendy, Trevor and myself had a very enjoyable night visiting the Rotary Club of Emerald. It was lovely to talk to their friendly members, hear about their projects and see the fun activities they do at their club.

Once a month one of their members visits a local retirement village and interviews a resident. He does a short presentation on the life of that resident. They awarded the McLeod Murphy scholarship to Nicholas Adams, one of the members son's who is studying bioscience and law at university.  We heard from DG Peter Behm and there was cake for one of the member's 75th birthday.

They invited our members to help out on the Kids Run for Fun, Puffing Billy Railway - a fundraiser for Children's Health Projects. They are still in need of volunteers so if you are able to help out on the morning of Sunday 30 November reach out to Ian Wakefield on ianwikw@outlook.com.

Next Week:
Next meeting we are inviting the City of Casey CEO Glenn Patterson and our local Berwick Councilor Scott Dowling to talk about updates at the Council. Come along with your questions - but be nice, he is my boss!

We are also participating in the Lift the Lid Fundraiser. This event raises funds for mental health research. If you forget your hat it's a bigger donation and you will be provided with a hat. There will be a prize for the best hat.

We would cordially like to take this opportunity to encourage you to come along and join in the fun to celebrate World Mental Health Day for October 10.
By wearing a fun creative hat we can raise funds to assist others suffering from a mental health disorder.
It’s easy create your own hat style and bring a friend along if you want.

  • Gold coin donation to wear hat of your choice
  • $5 for hiring or buying a hat on the night
  • Even a bigger donation If you forget your hat (plus you will be provided with a hat to wear!)
  • $2 to enter the hat parade
  • $2 to sit out and watch

Prizes to be won by those who participate by wearing a fun/ crazy hat.
Let’s give it a go  and watch the donation grow for Lift the lid Hat day in October
