President's Ramblings

This week at our meeting we had a belly full of laughs and delicious Christmas dinner.

Yes, it was Christmas in July! It was a night of fellowship and fun. Vicky put on a delicious Christmas roast with all the trimmings, followed by plum pudding and pavlova. We had some Christmas games that saw David Nutter with a new hair style, we found out a certain member doesn't know the name of our District Governor and Funno has a secret talent of charades!

Reminders:
Please book in for Tree Planting this SUNDAY 10 August 10am-1pm.

Mock Interviews at Nossal High School will be held THURSDAY 21 August. We need at least 10 people to come along to interview the students and provide feedback on their interviewing skills. Please let Andrew Somers or Di Scheepers know if you are able to assist with this event.

This week's meeting:
This week we will hear about Mark and Isobel Caulfield's most recent bike riding holiday in Europe. We are looking forward to all the photos, stories and hopefully not too many injuries.

Fellowship: Andrew Somers
Chairperson: Michele Somers

St John of God Gardens Working Bee

Our first working bee of the new Rotary year for the St John of God garden redevelopment was held on Sunday the 20th of July. It was very well attended by an enthusiastic group of members and friends on a beautiful winter’s day. A lot of hard work was rewarded with a great lunch provided by the hospital. Progress was made on the recommissioning of the water feature in the Chapel garden and solving some of the problems with the irrigation system. A 6.0m³ bin was well and truly filled with dead and dying plants removed from the planter boxes and garden beds around and close by to the Chapel garden. A date for the next working bee is still to be set.
