Hello and what a fabulous evening we had down at the Cranbourne Shire Historical Society Museum. Barry, Polly and Helen showed us around the old Fisherman's Cottage, the tool and machinery shed and the old primary school. It was interesting to learn about how people used to live, make the most of everything and live without modern appliances. It was fun guessing what each of the different mystery items were used for, and seeing how labour intensive everything was, from hand washing clothes to churning your own butter. We enjoyed a delicious dinner at the Tooradin Sports Club afterwards in the cricketers room. Thank you Eric and Wendy Boon for organising the evening for the club. 

 

This week we are supporting the Inner Wheel Club of Berwick at their major fundraiser Oaks Day event on Thursday 6 November at Holm Park.

Next week we are swapping our meeting to Tuesday 11 November as we have been invited by the Rotary Club of Rowville-Lysterfield for a presentation by Alma Reynolds on Rotary Foundation. Please join us to support another club hosting an event and meet other Rotarians doing amazing work! 

 

On Wednesday 19 November we are visiting the Running Rabbit Museum at the Upwey RSL in commemoration of Remembrance Day. Followed by dinner at Poppies restaurant at the RSL.
