What a great night we had for our 60th anniversary Berwick Cemetery clean-up. It was great to see so many people in attendance and a great number of visitors as well. A great deal of work was done including clearing away the left over Christmas decorations. Pruning and watering roses, repainting ironwork, digging out and removal of sedges along the northern boundary and a general clean-up. Of course we had the obligatory BBQ after all the work was done. A big thankyou to everyone who turned up to help out and of course to Funno for organising the event. For this very special occasion we even managed to have a cake to celebrate the 60th. It was very fitting to have BJ on hand to do the ceremonial cutting. BJ attended the very first cemetery working bee way back in 1965. We were fortunate also to have a representative from Star News Group in attendance to report on the event and take photos. Keep a lookout in the Berwick-Pakenham Gazette in the coming weeks. Take a look later in the bulletin for a few more photos from the night. I trust everyone has a great Australia Day long weekend. Michele and I are off on a rather unplanned impromptu train journey from Adelaide to Brisbane. Next Wednesday (Jan 29th) we are back to regular meetings at Holm Park. No guest speaker this week but a chance for everyone to catch up and hear the stories of what everyone got up to in the holidays. Cheers, Andrew
