President's Ramblings
Last week, we enjoyed a visit to the Disaster Aid Australia (DAA) Offices in Eumemmerring. Brian, Cherie and Peter told us about this amazing program providing aid such as shelters, building materials, food and safe drinking water after a natural disaster.

Their presentation focused mostly on the 'Safe Water For Every Child' program helping communities affected by the ongoing disaster of unsafe drinking water. They work in many countries throughout the Asia Pacific region. Brian showed us the Skyhydrant and how it works. Demonstrating how the water is filtered, how to clean the filter and of course the all important taste test of the filtered water!

After a lovely dinner and dessert, I was delighted to accept on behalf of our members a certificate from DAA recognising the Rotary Club of Berwick for the donation to DAA. The work the DAA volunteers do is truly remarkable.

Unfortunately again, this week we had to cancel the meeting due to low registration numbers. The club is its members, so I ask if you can attend meetings please attend as we can't continue to cancel meetings.

Next Week's Meeting

Next week we will be off to the seaside! Eric and Wendy have organised a fantastic visit to the Fisherman’s Cottage Museum Tooradin. We will be meeting earlier, with a 6pm arrival time

Come along and hear how the small village of Tooradin had an important role in the fishing industry in it’s heyday. The Museum also houses a large collection of the original Shire of Cranbourne. You may never know what you may find. Our tour guide for the evening is well known to the club, being past principal of Berwick Secondary College, Barry Freeman.

Dinner will be at your own cost after the tour at the Tooradin Sport Club at 7pm.
