Next Week
This week we will be joined by Bob Richards to talk about the importance of Rotary Insurance.
Final Comments
On a final note, this Rotary year we have already had to cancel two meetings due to low attendance numbers. I understand everyone gets sick, goes on holidays or has events that cannot be changed. I ask though, if you can come to a meeting please join us! It's not fair to Bob and Vicky to cancel on them the day before a meeting, embarrassing to cancel speakers and costs the club money as we need a minimum of 20 people to attend.
If anyone has ideas on how we can increase numbers please speak to myself or anyone on the board. Coming up we are varying our meetings including:
1 October - visit another Rotary Club this week
15 October - visit to Disaster Aid Australia's office in Eumemmerring
29 October - visit to the Cranbourne Historic Society at the Fisherman's Cottage, Tooradin
19 November - visit to Upwey RSL and war museum
The following week we have an inspirational local speaker in Shannon Garrett who has an amazing story to share, it would be great to get a good crowd together to hear about his journey and support his cause, please invite friends and partners to join us.
Shannon is a Berwick local, battling a rare and aggressive form of cancer called Diffuse Midline Glioma (DMG). Despite his health challenges, Shannon has set himself the goal to raise $100,000 for Children’s Brain Cancer Research and to bring awareness to DMG. This year in July Shannon completed the Tour de Mont Blanc walk across the Swiss, French and Italian Alps.
