This week our guest speaker is Samantha Clarke, Victorian Ambassador with Mercy Ships Australia.
Around the world, nearly five billion people lack access to safe surgery. Conditions that are easily treatable in Australia can become life threatening or socially isolating in low resource countries. Mercy Ships responds by deploying hospital ships staffed by volunteer medical professionals to provide free surgery and training, restoring health, dignity and opportunity.
Samantha will share with us the human side of the work of Mercy Ships, through powerful patient stories, the impact of Australia’s involvement and how communities like ours are helping bring hope to people who would otherwise have no access to care.
