Members will recall several weeks ago, we had a joint meeting with the Narre Warren Club where we learnt about their project of assisting with the transport of a container load of education supplies to a high school in Tonga, which was devastated by a tsunami following the eruption of the Hunga-Tonga Hunga Ha'apai volcano on January 15, 2022.

We supported this project by donating $1,000 and obtaining a further $1,000 District Grant.
The container has been delivered and below is the response from the school:
“Dear Mr. President,
Eastertide greetings from ‘Apifo’ou College!
I bring homage to you all from our teachers and students. Apifo’ou College joins the Psalm 118/24, “This is the day that the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it!”
We have just completed the unloading of the container and you can watch a live coverage of the event on the Letio Apifo’ou Tonga FB page.
On behalf of us all the Apifo’ou Family in Tonga, I extend to you Sir, and all the Honorary Members of the Rotary Club, at Narre Warren, our heartfelt gratitude for this tremendous act of charity. Indeed the Lord has truly risen within your organisation and the community of Narre Warren.
The school is on a one break, so the real drama will happen when the teachers and students return to school and look at their new chairs, White boards, Text Books, Computers, A4/3 Papers, etc, etc.
It’s always a fulfilling sentiment witnessing the joy on the faces of the students when they know that they’re being loved and cared for, as you have done by this wonderful gesture.
We have been praying for your Rotary Club members since we started the campaign, Foaki Fiefia OLHC project.
We’ll continue to pray through our Masses and Rosaries, that the Almighty God and Our Blessed Mother keep the Rotary Club at Narre Warren close to their sacred hearts.
Yours Sincerely,
Fr. ‘Ekuasi Manu sm
Principal.”
Our efforts have far-reaching consequences.
