PP Sjaak Kusters' Report

Sjaak spoke about the Holland Festival at that Monash Rotary were promoting in Berwick at Akoonah Park.  Monash Rotary said they would donate money to our Rotary Club of Berwick’s favourite charity in return for assistance at the Dutch Festival.

A group of volunteers from the Rotary Club of Berwick assisted in a very successful event.

Sjaak asked Craig Kendall and Rudy Lopes from the Rotary Club of Monash to join him and Lisa Evans for the presentation of the cheque.

Craig told us all that they were budgeting for about 3,000 people to attend the Festival but it turned out that around 6,000 people came.  The day was a great success and the local Dutch community and also people came from Geelong. 

Craig handed over a cheque from the Rotary Clubs of Monash and Berwick to Lisa Evans of St John of God Hospital in recognition of all our work on the day and that cheque was for $4,300.  Lisa told us the new hospital will open on 18 January, 2018 which will be terrific for our region.
