Today, I got this email from my Zone 8 "Public Image Boss", Roslyn Teirney. I noted that David Anderson was mentioned and has stepped up a level since I last talked to him. Jokes aside, our Rotary's Public Image has become a hot topic over the last few years as we stop hiding in the shadows and try to show the world what Rotary does.
We know by experience that when we work and have a meaningful purpose, we are not boring, and almost all of us have a sense of humour. For us to enjoy being community volunteers, we need a steady flow of new members to replace those who have worked hard and bring our ability to do exciting projects forward without burning out existing members. We love having younger people around and I know from my own experience that we have an untapped value that younger folk are missing out on.
Please think about how people around us view Rotary and what you are prepared to do to put our best foot forward. It might be as little as wearing a uniform, getting in a photo of action or trying to tell your story of why you volunteer as a Rotarian. Remember, August is Membership month, so bring a potential member or two to one of our surprisingly enjoyable meetings. Our venue is the best there is, and the food is delicious.

I learned yesterday that the April 2024 edition of Rotary Down Under will be dedicated to stories about public image.
So please put on your thinking caps so that we can start to gather resources to submit to RDU to showcase your districts.
Which clubs are really nailing the branding and marketing? Which projects have been in the news? Which publications make you proudest of your Rotary colleagues? Who are some of the great storytellers of the district, who inspire others?
I am hereby delegating to you to get going on this your way but you know where I am if you want to discuss or check anything.

Also, November's edition is on the theme of The Rotary Foundation. In 9790, PDG David Anderson is working on that. For 9820, I'll see what is happening at the next DG Live Zoom.
